OKLAHOMA CITY -- When asked about the oldie-but-goodie San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma Citys Kevin Durant inquired about Tony Parker Antworten

OKLAHOMA CITY -- When asked about the oldie-but-goodie San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma Citys Kevin Durant inquired about Tony Parkers age. Scarpe Saucony Offerta . "Thirty-two," a reporter answered. "He is old," Durant quipped, drawing laughter. "He doesnt play like hes 32 years old." Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili are even older. Duncan just turned 38 and Ginobili is approaching 37. The trio won its first NBA title together in 2003 and fought back Father Time to reach the NBA Finals last year. They will play in their seventh Western Conference finals together, starting with Game 1 Monday night in San Antonio. Durant, the leagues MVP, said theres more to San Antonios success than some mythical fountain of youth. It starts with the genius of Gregg Popovich, the leagues Coach of the Year. "Their system, they plug guys in and out," Durant said. "They always stick to their same system. They get guys who fit. And theyve got a great coach who gets those guys prepared." Even with an aging core and numerous injuries throughout the season, the Spurs finished with the leagues best record. They did it with consistency and teamwork that has continued in the playoffs. San Antonio is shooting 49 per cent from the field as a team in the post-season, with no player averaging 20 points. Oklahoma City counters with dynamic individual play from a pair of 25-year-olds. Durant is averaging 31.4 points and 9.5 rebounds in the playoffs. Russell Westbrook is averaging 26.6 points, 8.4 assists and 8.0 rebounds in post-season play. Westbrook, in particular, has San Antonios attention. While Durants play has been typical, Westbrook has improved significantly as a floor general during the playoffs. "Hes an incredible talent having a great playoff run," Duncan said. "Some incredible numbers. Just an impressive athlete when you try to stay in front of him. His confidence is there." The Thunder will be without Serge Ibaka, who led the league in blocked shots. The mobile, athletic forward injured his left calf in Game 6 of the conference semifinal against the Los Angeles Clippers. "Its hard, but were going to move on," Thunder centre Kendrick Perkins said. "Were a very prideful organization and team. Were going to move on." Here are five things to watch in the series: THUNDER DOMINANCE: Oklahoma City won all four regular-season meetings with San Antonio this season, so the Spurs will take nothing for granted, even with Ibaka out. "You never get overconfident in that situation, especially against a team that we havent beat this year," Ginobili said. "We know how talented they are. They can really score in bunches. Very athletic, strong, play good defence. So, no, were not going to get overconfident for sure." IBAKAS REPLACEMENT: Oklahoma City rookie Steven Adams is the most likely to see a spike in minutes. Veteran Nick Collison will play more, too. The Thunder could go with a smaller lineup at times and play Durant as a power forward. Coach Scott Brooks still wouldnt say Sunday who would start in Ibakas place. PARKERS HAMSTRING: San Antonio was likely to have significant help on Westbrook anyway, but Parkers strained left hamstring could be a major problem against Westbrook and Reggie Jackson, two of the most athletic point guards in the league. Parker said Sunday that the hamstring was still tight, but he plans to play. Jackson said the Thunder will test Parker early. LEONARD vs. DURANT: Brooks said Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard is an All-Star in the making. The Spurs feel Leonard is the best equipped player in the league to bother Durant because of his length and energy. "As good as anybody can do it," Ginobili said. "We are lucky to have him. Nobody can guard him (Durant) 1-on-1. Thats been proven -- hes the MVP -- but you can put him in some trouble, and then the team has to respond." SPURS OTHER GUYS: One thing that makes the Spurs dangerous is their depth. Though Parker, Duncan and Ginobili are the best-known players, Leonard, Marco Belinelli, Danny Green, Boris Diaw, Tiago Splitter and Patty Mills all play their roles well and are capable of being difference makers in the right situation. Oklahoma City will need to prevent the other guys from having breakout nights. Winnipeg trailed by five points in the final minute when quarterback Drew Willy completed a 13-play, 75-yard drive with Feoli-Gudinos 18-yard touchdown catch on third down to lift the Bombers to a 34-33 victory over the Montreal Alouettes on Friday night.SAINT JOHN, N.B. -- Patrick Chan got an email from his mom Saturday night, wishing him good luck in his skate. "I was like I already skated," Chan said, laughing. Chans mom Karen was travelling in Europe when he won his fourth Skate Canada International title Saturday. The trip was her way of "coping with the separation" the skater said, after he moved to Detroit without her -- a split that wasnt a mutual decision. "At the same time it was a transition of locations, and also a transition in my life, where I turned 22, (and thought) this is time for me to take ownership," Chan said. "At the time I didnt realize it, but it was a step I had to take for these Olympics even moreso." Chans dad Lewis, a lawyer, was in Saint John to see Chan win gold, landing two huge quads in virtually demolishing the field. But the absence of his mom was remarkable considering shed basically been the boss of Team Chan for his entire career, acting as everything from his manager to his chauffeur and his cook. The two lived in a hotel room together in Florida when he trained there, and when he changed coaches just prior to the Vancouver Olympics they moved together to Colorado Springs where they lived until his move to Detroit last spring. "I think any mother, especially with an only child and an only son as a child, its very tough for them to let go, especially my mom who has played a huge role in my career," Chan said, emphasizing huge. "She still does. It was very hard for her, if it was her choice, she would definitely want to live with me. It was tough, I had to really draw the line. But my parents have been extremely supportive." The Toronto skater lives alone in an apartment in Detroit, and is learning to cook his own meals, rattling off a list of dishes hes perfected: quinoa, wild rice, gluten-free pasta, rib eye and chicken. "I have to take ownership, I have to pay bills, I have make sure I can write cheques, thats stuff my mom did my whole life," he said. Learning to fend for himself, he said, will help him Sochi, after he found himself alone and a bit lost in the athletes village in Vancouver. "I needed someone to guide me, and tell me Yes I sshould eat this, no I shouldnt eat this," he said. Saucony Scontate. . "Now Im in control of everything." Hes diligent during the week, maintaining a strict training schedule and diet, but he "lets loose" on the weekends. He eats what he wants, and makes a point of enjoying his time off the ice. He golfs or works on his car. It helps him cope, he said, with the grind of training. He didnt allow himself that luxury before the Vancouver Games, where he finished a disappointing fifth after having his sights set on a medal. "I was narrowly minded: It has to be this way or Im going to lose the medal. It had to be this perfection in life and perfection in skating," he said. "This Olympics Im approaching differently, Im teaching my body to adapt in different situations, so that when I get to Sochi Im not so focused on, Oh my god, because I ate pasta thats not gluten-free, Im going to lose this competition." "Its ridiculous, I have to trust that my body is adaptable. Sure Monday will be really bad and really uncomfortable and Ill be suffering through my long program, but it doesnt matter because I can still get through it." Chan has also learned to wield a mean monkey wrench, to the point where he can do most of his own car repairs. He drives a 2011 charcoal grey BMW, that he bought used. His mom took some convincing though first. "When I was in Colorado, I was begging my mom to get a car," Chan said. "The first year I won worlds, I was like Mom I won worlds, can I get a car? She said No, if you win the second one, you can get a car. "Then I won the second one, and I said Can I get a car? And shes like No. "So finally, I did all the research and looked online and found a used car online, and bought a used one." Chan said hell likely go for a fourth world title this March in Tokyo, although he hasnt made a definitive decision. "After the Olympics, Ill have a huge weight lifted off my shoulders," he said. "I want to see how I compete after Ive been training my whole life for the one moment and see how I compete after that." Chans next Grand Prix event is the Trophee Eric Bompard, Nov. 15-17 in Paris.
