GLENDALE, Ariz. Chicago Blackhawks Outlet Store . -- Coming off a four-game losing streak, the Toronto Maple Leafs put an emphasis on getting off to better starts. Theyve been doing just that and its led to their longest win streak in seven years. Jonathan Bernier stopped 39 shots and the Maple Leafs used a fast start to kick off another big scoring night, beating the Phoenix Coyotes 4-2 Monday for their first five-game winning streak since 2007. "It feel great and feels great for a goalie too," Bernier said of getting off to fast starts. "Thats our main focus; we know if we score the first goal in this league, you have a good chance to win." With Bernier making some tough saves early, Toronto jumped out to a 3-0 lead by early in the second period. The Maple Leafs withstood a flurry of shots by Phoenix, thanks to some tough saves by Bernier and some near-misses by the Coyotes, and pulled away to win five straight games for the first time since Jan. 27-Feb. 6, 2007. Phil Kessel had a goal and an assist to extend his points streak to six games. Jake Gardiner and Nazem Kadri also had a goal and an assist, and Carl Gunnarsson scored his first goal in nearly a year. Buoyed by their fast starts, the Maple Leafs have scored 20 goals during their winning streak. "We feel this group can continue to grow and play to a higher level -- enough talking about it," Toronto coach Randy Carlyle said. "Action speaks louder than words and we have to continue to challenge this group to play better and become a playoff team." The Coyotes had plenty of chances. Most of them were turned away by Bernier, a few by the goal posts and numerous others just missed the mark, leading to a frustrating loss. Phoenix matched a team record by scoring a power-play goal in eight straight games when Mike Ribeiro scored early in the third period and Antoine Vermette added a short-handed goal. "Its disappointing," Vermette said. "We felt out there we had a lot of great scoring chances and we had a good night, but it went to them." The Maple Leafs followed their four-game losing streak by pouring in goals during a four-game winning streak. Toronto kept it rolling against the Coyotes, scoring two goals in 2:02 late in the first period. After both teams traded good scoring chances, Gardiner scored by gathering a loose puck out front and beating Mike Smith from close range. Phoenix defenceman Zbynek Michalek went to the penalty box for sending the puck over the glass in his own end and then Kessel capitalized on the ensuing power play, scoring his 24th of the season with help from a screen by James van Riemsdyk out front. Gunnarsson made it 3-0 with his first goal since Jan. 24, 2013, controlling a pass from Dion Phaneuf with his foot and beating Smith to the stick side. The first two periods were filled with near-misses for the Coyotes: Lauri Korpikoski hit the crossbar in the first period, Oliver Ekman-Larsson the post in the second and Shane Doan couldnt corral a stretch pass for a breakaway. Phoenix had numerous other shots just miss the goal and Bernier made some spectacular saves, including a sliding stop on a one-time by Ekman-Larsson on a power play. The Coyotes had 27 shots on goal and 16 other shots through the first two periods. "Their goalie was playing well," Coyotes coach Dave Tippett said. "I think he was fortunate to have a few pucks hit the crossbar and things like that, but when youre having a night we were, those bounces go the other way." They finally broke through on a power play early in the third period, when Keith Yandle found Ribeiro at the side of the net and he knocked it in past Bernier. The Coyotes had a slew of penalties after that and Kadri cashed in on the third one with his first goal in 12 games to put the Maple Leafs up 4-1. Vermette scored Phoenixs first short-handed goal of the season after that, but the Coyotes couldnt get anything past Bernier, who is 3-0 against Phoenix. Notes: Coyotes C Martin Hanzal, tied for the team lead with 14 goals, did not play and is listed day to day with a lower-body injury. ... Kessel and Coyotes RW David Moss, who are cousins, played against each other in the NHL for the eighth time. ... Toronto won at Phoenix for the first time since 2003, a span of four games. ... Yandle extended his points streak to four games with his assist on Ribeiros goal. Authentic Brandon Manning Jersey . LeBron James believes hes a major reason for their early failures. Authentic Bobby Orr Jersey . Granada defender Diego Mainz barged into the back of Villa to send the Spain striker to the ground inside the area and Costa stepped up to the spot to score his 12th league goal in the 38th minute. Costa showed no effects of the news that his Brazilian citizenship may be revoked after he elected to play for Spains national team, as the forward was a constant threat for Atletico and forced several saves from goalkeeper Roberto. http://www.cheapblackhawksjerseysauthentic.com/?tag=authentic-keith-magnuson-jersey . Terry came from Boston along with Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce but has appeared in just 35 games after a knee injury, averaging 4.5 points on 36 per cent shooting. Evans was a favourite of fans but not coach Jason Kidd, who used him in just 30 of their 51 games. SAN DIEGO -- With a blue-collar, workmanlike approach, the Cincinnati Bengals knocked the San Diego Chargers back to reality while protecting their two-game lead in the AFC North. The Bengals ran for 164 yards. They held Philip Rivers to just 252 yards passing. They forced three turnovers and preyed on a big breakdown in coverage. "Down and dirty," cornerback Adam Jones said after the Bengals beat the Chargers 17-10 on Sunday, holding San Diegos high-powered offence to a season-low in points and wearing down its defence. Andy Dalton threw a go-ahead, 21-yard touchdown pass to wide-open A.J. Green late in the third quarter that allowed the Bengals (8-4), who were coming off their bye, to keep a two-game lead over Baltimore. "Thats the main thing. Were not playing just to make the playoffs," Jones said. "Were playing for the bye. We played hard and physical on defence. If we keep playing hard and smart and were going to be a real, real good team." San Diego (5-7) lost the momentum it gained with a thrilling 41-38 comeback win at Kansas City a week earlier. The Chargers slim playoff hopes dwindled after their fourth loss in five games. "You score 10 points, you are going to lose most of the time," said Rivers, who completed 23 of 37 passes for 252 yards. "Thats a good defence. We just werent consistent enough." With the score tied at 7, the Bengals got the ball after Dre Kirkpatrick ripped the ball away from tight end Antonio Gates after a reception at the Cincinnati 25, the Chargers third turnover. Ten plays later, Green split the defence for an easy touchdown, with safety Eric Weddle and cornerback Marcus Gilchrist only able to watch. "Obviously they jacked the coverage up a little bit and missed assignments in the middle and it worked out well for us," said Dalton, who added that the Bengals power running game helped set up that play. Dalton joined Peyton Manning as the only quarterbacks to start their careers with three straight 3,000-yard seasons. Dalton was 14 of 23 for 190 yards, giving him 3,144 for the season. "It was just a seam right up the middle, man," said Green, who wasnt slowed by a hip pointer sustained during the Bengals first drive. "I guess the two linebackers and the safety went with Jermaine (Gresham) and I just came wide open." On the Bengals next drive, Andrew HHawkins caught a short pass from Dalton on third-and-2 from the Bengals 18 and raced 50 yards to the San Diego 32, where he was pushed out of bounds. Authentic Chris Kunitz Jersey. The Bengals settled for Mike Nugents 46-yard field goal for a 17-7 lead. The Bengals appeared to be driving for a score that would have put away the game, but BenJarvus Green-Ellis fumbled when he was hit by Gilchrist. Weddle recovered and returned it 27 yards to the San Diego 43. The drive stalled and Nick Novak kicked a 48-yard field goal to pull to 17-10 with 4:43 left. A personal foul against Johnnie Troutman after the field goal forced the Chargers to kick off from their 20 and Brandon Tate returned it 24 yards to the Bengals 34 and Cincinnati ran out the clock. Green-Ellis gained 92 yards on 20 carries. Giovani Bernard had 57 yards on 14 carries. San Diego held the Bengals to 104 yards in the first half and then gave up 250 in the second half. Rookie coach Mike McCoy said his defence "fell apart." Cincinnatis offensive line manhandled the Chargers on the Bengals second drive, which ended with BenJarvus Green-Ellis scoring on a 4-yard run. The Chargers responded with a long drive capped when second-year tight end Ladarius Green split linebackers Rey Maualuga and Vontaze Burfict and was wide open for a 30-yard touchdown reception to tie the game at 7. Mostly, though, the Chargers struggled. "We crossed the 50 I dont know how many times but we didnt finish drives," Rivers said. "It is just not the turnovers; those we know. But there are other drives where we just didnt finish and ended up punting there right around midfield and that is critical. "This is a good team," Rivers said. "Let an opportunity pass us by? Yes. It wasnt like we had it in our grasp and they came in here and stole it from us. We knew we were going to have to play well." Said Burfict: "Just when theyd get to the 40-yard line, we had to stop them. Thats what were good at. They cross the 50 and everybody stepped up to make plays." NOTES: Chargers rookie Keenan Allen had eight catches for 106 yards, the fifth 100-yard game for the third-round draft pick from Cal. ... Chargers CB Derek Cox was benched in favour of Richard Marshall. Cox had been benched in three of the four previous games. ... Bengals LG Clint Boling hurt his right knee late in the first quarter.
